Support & Maintenance

Sales Representative

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  •  Is responsible for the initiation of sales and for knowing the procedures followed by the inside sales staff.  Also is able to perform these procedures if needed.
  •  Must have positive attitudes, professionalism and product knowledge since this individual is being an “ambassador” for Actron.
  •  Being goal and objective oriented is required.  Time management and sales skills are essential.
  •  Administers and monitors yearly goals and forecasts throughout the year, and performance is measured by using the goals and objectives given at the start of the fiscal year.
  •  Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from newspapers, business directories, industry ads, trade shows, Internet Web sites, and other sources.
  •  Is responsible to specify new products and find new applications to suit the customer needs.
  •  Documents the customers’ decision makers, programs, and projects they are working on a consistent basis.
  •  Is able to manage and travel a territory, to call on regular and prospective customers, to solicit orders, or talk with customers on sales floor or by phone.
  •  Must be able to travel 90% of time.
  •  Displays or demonstrates product, using samples or catalog, and emphasizes salable features.
  •  Is able to do cold calling and set appointments with engineers, buyers, and anyone associated with the purchasing process.
  •  Quotes prices and credit terms and prepares sales contracts for orders obtained.
  •  Estimates date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of Actron’s production and delivery schedules.
  •  Prepares reports of business transactions and keeps expense accounts.
  •  Works with inside sales representatives to keep account activities and literature up to date.
  •  Coordinates customer training.
  •  Occasionally entertains customers.
  •  Enters new customer data and other sales data for current customers into computer database.
  •  Develops and maintains relationships with purchasing contacts.
  •  Investigates and resolves customer problems with deliveries.
  •  Attends trade shows.

 

Support & Maintenance

Quality Control Instructor (PM Shift)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESinclude the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Technical Inspection & Measurement

  • Perform mechanical inspection using a wide variety of hand tools, gauges, and advanced systems such as, Hexagon Arm with PC-DMIS, visual systems (Comparator), profilometer, and hardness tester.
  • Inspect raw materials such as extrusions, sheet metal, castings, and purchased products.
  • Conduct in-process, final, and support source inspections to ensure conformance.

Documentation & Auditing

  • Prepare and manage crucial aerospace documentation, including but not limited to: AS9102 First Article Inspection Reports, and Net-Inspect FAIRs.
  • Perform internal audits and generate comprehensive reports.
  • Review certification packages to ensure compliance.
  • Create detailed non-conformance reports.

Compliance & Safety

  • Review specifications and legal requirements for product and shipping compliance.
  • Follow all safety rules and regulations.
Support & Maintenance

Document Control Clerk

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Is able to perform duties requiring moderate judgment to maintain engineering drawing files and to organize the processing of change orders.
  • Examines documents such as blueprints, drawings, change orders, and specifications to verify completeness and accuracy of data.
  • Confers with document originators or engineering liaison personnel to resolve discrepancies and compiles required changes to documents.
  • Posts changes to computerized or manual control records, releases documents, and notifies affected departments.
  •  Maintains related files and maintains lists regarding the processing of change orders as well as records of drawing removed from files.
  • Assists in maintaining website drawing database.
  • Prepares requests for reproduction of documents.
  • Maintains orderly engineering reference documents throughout department.
  • Scans the documents from the production department.
Production & Machine Operations

Tool & Die Lead

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Analyzes blueprint of part or die to plan sequence of operations and estimate lead time for tooling design and completion.
  • Measures and scribes metal stock to layout design of die.
  • Submits purchase requisition to purchasing when needing outside sourcing (i.e. Wire EDM, Grinding, etc.)
  • Sets up and operates variety of machine tools such as a surface grinder, vertical mill, engine lathe, heat treat oven, and punch press to manufacture die components.
  • Bolts and dowels die parts to assemble die.
  • Inspects and tests assembled die with sample part and measuring instruments to verify conformance to specifications.
  • Makes dies containing mechanical or hydraulic components.
  • Makes progressive type dies and dies that blank, form, pierce, draw, lance, stake, crimp or trim sheet metal and other metal components.
  • Makes templates to verify dimensions.
  • Ability to use required equipment to lift and/or transport extra heavy dies or die components.
  • Capable of setting up dies in presses if needed.
  • Inspects first article part and completes necessary paperwork.
  • Able to communicate with outside vendors for die and fixturing machining requirements.
  • Interacts with supervisors to fulfill tooling, fixturing, and die requirements.
  • Works with minimum supervision.
  • Follows safety rules and regulations.
Production & Machine Operations

Assembler

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Positions parts in specified relationship to each other.
  • Bolts, screws, clips, cements, or otherwise fastens parts together.
  • Works at bench as member of assembly group assembling one or two specific parts and passing unit to another worker.
  • Works at different workstations as production needs require or shifts from one station to another to reduce fatigue factor.
  • Is able to fit, align, calibrate and adjust parts and mechanical units to meet specifications and requirements.
  • Is capable of choosing procedures, techniques, tools, materials, and/or equipment to meet special needs. Work is typically only spot checked.
  • Able to read and follow blueprints.
  • Able to use measuring tool and inspect finished product.
  • Works under minimum supervision.
  • Follows safety rules and regulations.
Production & Machine Operations

Spot Welder

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Reads blueprint or job order for product specifications such as dimensions and tolerances, and tooling instructions such as sequence of operations.
  • Selects, positions, and secures welding tips in machine tool holder.
  • Selects and positions work piece in holding device or fixtures.
  • Adjusts machine controls to get proper weld strength and cosmetic finish.
  • Responsible for insuring that welds meet applicable welding specifications.
  • Observes operation of machine and verifies conformance of welded work piece to specifications.
  • Follows safety rules and regulations.
Engineering & Technical

Mechanical Design Engineer

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Able to perform product testing and analyze failures.
  • Able to determine product feasibility.
  • Analyzes engineering sketches, specifications, and related data and drawings to determine design factors such as size, shape, and arrangement of parts.
  • Interfaces with production and sales to ensure product objectives and produce ability are achieved.
  • Sketches rough layout of machining and computes angles, weights, surface areas, dimensions, radii, clearances, tolerances, leverages, and location of features.
  • Computes magnitude, direction, and point of application of tension, compression, and bending force, and develops geometric shape of parts to accommodate operating loads.
  • Drafts detailed multi-view drawings of parts and subassemblies, including specifications for gear ratios, bearing loads, and direction and interaction of moving parts.
  • Modifies part design to correct functional deficiencies or to reduce production problems.
  • Measures machine and parts prior to the start of production to ensure compliance with design specifications.
  • Uses computers assisted design/drafting equipment and software to develop designs.
  • Ale to coordinate and lead meetings and design reviews.
  • Able to design and detail manufacturing drawings from concept to finished products.
  • Able to work with suppliers in resolving production issues or developing new products.
  • Able to communicate and assist customers, engineers, and outside sales representatives on technical problems or new product development.
  • Able to give presentations to internal and external customers.
Production & Machine Operations

CNC Setup/Operator

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Reviews setup sheet and specifications to determine setup procedure, machining sequence, and dimensions of finished work piece.
  • Attaches fixture to machine bed and positions and secures work piece in fixture according to setup instructions.
  • Assembles cutting tools in tool holders and positions tool holders in machine spindles as specified or inserts cutting tools in specified machine magazines.
  • Loads program file in machine control console or enters commands to retrieve preprogrammed machine instructions from database.
  • Manipulates controls and enters commands to index cutting tool to specified set point and to start machine.
  • Runs prototype programs when needed to.
  • Observes and listens to machine operation to detect malfunctions such as worn or damaged cutting tools.
  • Changes cutting tools and location of work piece during machining process as specified in setup instructions.
  • Measures work piece for conformance to specifications.
  • Adjusts machine feed and speed and changes cutters to machine parts according to specifications when automatic programming is faulty or machine malfunctions.
